Children benefit in many ways from playing games with parents, siblings, and friends. When Bible-based games are played, kids learn Bible truths while having fun.

There are many benefits of playing games with kids. Christian card and board games have the added advantage of bringing the family together for fun and entertainment while reinforcing Bible facts, concepts and principles. Christian games also can be used with youth groups and Sunday School classes. Some games include cards that can be traded in the same way as baseball cards, while others have expansion packs that can be added one or more at a time to enhance play. Others are played like traditional board games.

Below are a few Christian games available online and in Christian stores that can be played with kids of various ages.

Ark Christian Card Game

Ark Christian Card Game is suitable for ages 10 and older. Players race against the forming storm clouds as they attempt to gather all of the animals and get them onto the ark before the rain begins. The Ark Christian Card Game comes with an expansion pack. Expansion packs sold separately expand the game.

Five Crowns

Five Crowns is a card game for kids that is suitable for children 6 and older. Although it is an original game, children familiar with other card games such as rummy, spades and hearts will pick it up more quickly. The game consists of 11 fast-paced rounds. Each member of the royal family is portrayed in color in beautiful artwork.

Noah’s Quest

Noah’s Quest is geared to children 8 and older. Children work to complete the ark and get all of the animals safely inside the ark. Each player must have his own deck of 70 cards, which include benefit cards, animal cards and food cards. The decks are sold separately.

Bible Blurt

Bible Blurt is a game aimed at children 8 and older. It’s a group game that is ideal for three to 12 players, so it is appropriate for parties or group gatherings such as youth group or Sunday School. Bible Blurt requires players to come up with obscure Bible words as quickly as possible. The object of the game is to blurt out the correct word as fast as possible without making mistakes. All words are from the New International Version of the Bible.

The Ungame

The Ungame comes in various versions, including Christian and Catholic versions. It is geared toward anyone from 5 to 105. It takes approximately 45 minutes to one hour to play one game. The Ungame teaches good listening skills and respect for others since players should only talk when it is their turn. There are two decks of cards used in The Ungame: lighthearted and serious. It is best to start with the lighthearted cards and gradually incorporate more serious cards. This non-competitive game works to increase communication among family members.

Christian games for kids bring the family together and reinforce Bible truths. Card games such as Noah's Quest and Five Crowns take little time, effort and expense and games like Bible Blurt and the Ungame are sure to get everyone in the family involved.
